Student Athlete Profile Summary

My name is Lavoxkeia Carnes and I am in the Class of 2019 at Klein Collins High School in Klein, Texas. I am an aspiring veterinarian with a strong interest in competing at the collegiate level in Track & Field.

I have been a track & field athlete since I was 8 years old—competing at the state, regional and national level. I entered wrestling as a Freshman when I decided to take a break from track and try something else. I enjoy both sports and went back to track in my sophomore year. I have received many compliments in both track and field and wrestling, recognizing my speed, strength and natural athletic ability. In track and field, I have run everything from the 55M to 800M, 4x200M, 4x400M and competed in the Long and Triple Jump. I found my strengths to be the 200M, 400M and Triple Jump. As a wrestler, I lettered my Freshman year, placed 2nd in District and went on to compete in the Regional championships.

I am a well-rounded and dedicated student who has taken advance placement and dual credit courses. I have maintained a 3.55 GPA on a 4.0 scale in my high school/college level courses and will continue to not only sustain this record throughout my high school and collegiate careers.

I am also a 3-year member of the Future Farmers of America (FFA). In the previous 2 years, I raised rabbits. This year I am raised a goat and placed 2nd in Goats Class 2. I also participated in Public Speaking as a part FFA’s Leadership Development Events. Along with college level track and field, I plan to study Pre-Veterinary Medicine with a concentration in Animal Science and later continue into veterinary school to study Radiology.

Ultimately, it is my character that will differentiate me from everyone else. I am a team player and a hard worker, and feel I will be a valuable member for any team or organization. I’m excited to begin the college recruiting process and I can’t wait to see what my future has in store!
